This October, Bunny Blake brings you the greatest freak show on earth with her dazzling new single, “Freak of the Show”. With sounds imported from London to the USA, expect to remain balanced on the edge of your seat for the full 2 minutes and 30 seconds.
When producer Will Simms (The Pussycat Dolls, The Vamps) first played the introductory bass line, Bunny Blake was immediately hit with a mental slide show of elaborate sequin dresses, tight ropes and lion tamers. That is what inspired the first line: “You met your match boy, and everyone knows how quickly a match can burn”. This chromatic melody was the fantastical spark that brought an imaginary carnival to life. From that point, Bunny and her co-writers Kelly Rutledge and Taneisha Jackson where off to the races.
The lyrical content of “Freak of the Show” is as visual as it gets. A circus ring, puppets on strings, and coyly unmentioned “dark fantasies” are just a few things you will find in this audible treasure box. The song is a whole new take on sexy. Bunny Blake strikes a balance between both dark and seductive, keeping in step with her last two singles from the body of work she created with her creative team in London.
